Chief's wife killed on her way from funeral

Nairobi - One person died on the spot and several others injured when a matatu carrying mourners from a funeral in Kijabe to Malaba was involved in an accident at Bukembe, Bungoma County Tuesday night.
The team was returning from the burial of Stephen Muhoro Chege who was an employee of Interfreight Agency in Malaba, Busia County.
Reliable sources said a Ugandan woman who was married to a Chief in Teso North constituency died on the spot with two men suffering serious injuries.
They are admitted at Bungoma County Referral hospital.

Charles Sande, a Malaba resident suffered a broken leg and hand while the deceased's brother in-law from Uganda, Julius Wabomba suffered facial injuries.
Several other people who suffered minor injuries were treated and discharged.
An eyewitness said the matatu carrying the mourners hit a tractor carrying sugarcane before it lost control and landed into a ditch.
