Nyeri - Police in Mukurweini, Nyeri County, have arrested an Assistant Chief who allegedly impregnated a Form three schoolgirl.
According to area OCPD, Beatrice Kimoning, the 15-year-old minor has been in a relationship with the administrator.
Kimoning said the suspect, Kimani Kiruga, the sub-Chief of Karundu sub-location is in police custody and will be arraigned in court to face trial.
“We are waiting for a P3 form from medics and he will be arraigned in court immediately. We cannot allow such behavior,” said the OCPD.
She added that the 45-year-old administrator will so be charged with abduction after it emerged that he had been living with the minor secretly since Wednesday, last week.
The suspect is an immediate neighbour to the minor’s family, according to her father Peterson Gathogo.
Gathogo said the chief fled with the minor using a motorbike after it was discovered that she was pregnant.

Instead of going to police station, she went to the chief and they fled to unknown destination on a motorbike,” said shocked Gathogo.
He added that the chief had been warned by village elders against sexual relationships with minors.
Area Member of the County Assembly (MCA), Njoroge Githaiga claimed that the administrator is a renowned pedophile.
“When we confronted the Assistant Chief about the relationship with a minor, he dismissed us saying he could marry her because he is already rich and has enough land,” stated the MCA.
He further claimed that the suspect is a husband to three wives and father of six but lives alone after chasing the wives away.
