Nairobi - Changes to beautify the city of Nairobi are on the way, Governor Evans Kidero has reassured city residents.
Kidero, speaking about the incidences of flooding in the capital city during the current heavy rains, stated that he and his team was doing its best to ensure that everything gets back to track.
He said that the County Government, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority, the Kenya Urban Rural Authority and the Kenya Power Company are looking at ways of improving the current state of the city.
" The state of the city is not the best and I would like to assure Nairobi residents that the County Government is exploring every means possible to address it," he said.
" I am particularly concerned at the deplorable condition of the city's storm water drainage system which needs to be replaced immediately," he stated on his Facebook page.
The city has been affected by flooded and impassable roads which have led to massive traffic snarl ups in the current rainy season.
Kidero has previously stated that the city will not be allowed to drop into a state of disrepair while he is incharge.
