Champions league matchweek

06 November 2012, 15:20 Ellen Terry Busolo

With 16 matches scheduled this week on Tuesday and Wednesday, football fans cannot wait to see if their teams survive the struggle.

Though these matches are not the last of the group stages, they will give a clear picture of what the knock out phase will look like. English premier League defending champions Manchester City, have not won any match and are at the bottom of their group. They will be fighting for survival this week when they will face Ajax at Etihad.

Real Madrid coach Jose Murinho, on the other hand was full of praises on Borussia Dortmund saying that team is capable of winning the Champions League title. The two teams will face each other today in Madrid with Real Madrid will be looking for a chance beat Dortmund after they were beaten last week in Germany by Dortmund 2-1.

Defending Champions Chelsea will be facing Shakhtar Donetsk again in Stanford Bridge on Wednesday after they lost to Shakhtar Donetsk last week. Arsenal will be hosted in Germany by Schalke ’04 tonight.

After a dramatic win by Barcelona who  were almost defeated by Celtic in camp nou two weeks ago, Celtic’s will be hosting Barcelona. Celtic who proved to be trouble for Barcelona will be looking to secure a win at home on Wednesday. It will be an interesting week and all attention will be turned to the Champions League as the battle and struggle for survival will be held for two nights.
