Candidate arraigned on exam cheating charges

Nakuru - A private candidate was on Friday arraigned in a Nakuru court for cheating in her KCSE exam.
The candidate, Monicah Kamau, who was sitting her KCSE at the Child Care College situated at Nakuru’s Section 58 Estate, was found in possession of a hand written answers of History Paper 1 a day before the paper was done.
Police arrested her on Thursday after she was nabbed in possession of the history paper, according to Sergeant Okwaro, the officer investigating the case.
The suspect had been taken to police custody for interrogation after the arrest, where verification and comparison of notes with the original paper was done.
However, the suspect, who appeared before resident magistrate Loice Komingoi, denied the charges and was released on a bond of KES 100 000 and a surety of a similar amount, or a cash bail of KES 60 000.
The case will be heard on December 18.
