Cancelled Oil Deal a violation of our sovereignity
06 July 2012, 12:37
The cancellation of The Iran oil MoU between Kenya and Iran due to the western powers economic sanctions to the latter is a blow to Kenya,s sovereignty, for the benefit of others.
The embargo in the Iranian oil entirely remains a problem and property to the west and does not extend in any way to dealing blows to economy of other countries, Kenya included, regardless of it being an ally of the US in the war against militant Islam.
Kenya is struggling economically. If this deal of importing 4 million tonnes of oil per year could have gone through it would have been for the benefit of the ordinary taxpaying citizen, and not for the external, well-off economic powers compared to Kenya.
How would it feel to buy a liter of fuel for 63shillings,down from the current 112 shillings?
External interference to Kenya activities about who to befriend and who to have ties with is apparently an ultimate Violation of Sovereignty, a very good friend of neocolonialism which is our enemy.
