Nairobi - Call records show that 5 men in police custody communicated with Al Shabaab agents, a court has heard.
The 5 men, who have been in custody for just over two weeks will also spend a further month in remand whilst police continue with investigations.
The 5 have been accused by security authorities of being party to the preparations for the Garissa University College attack which saw 148 people killed.
They are Osman Abdi Dakane, Rashid Charles Mberesero, alias Rehani Dida, Mohammed
Abdi Abikar, Hassan Aden Hassan and Sahal Diriye Hussein.
Prosecutor Daniel Karuri said that the 5 had been found to have communicated with the Shabaab agents both in Kenya and Somalia.
A 6th suspect was released after it was found that he was not aware that the four Shabaab attackers dined at a hotel in Garissa in which he worked in.
Karruri insisted that in line with the terrorism act, the suspects should continue to stay in custody while investigations continue over the attack.
The Garissa attack was coordinated by Kenyans and eventually executed too by Kenyans, which has left the government with no choice but to knuckle down on terrorism, terrorists and their actions.
" The evidence is there my honour. We need time to find it, Karuri pleaded.
The suspects are being held at various police stations in Nairobi.
