CORD to hold rallies in Rift Valley to explain ICC truth

18 October 2015, 10:25 Victor Tinto

Nairobi - The CORD coalition will hold rallies in Deputy President William Ruto's Rift Valley background starting next weekend to explain the real truth behind the ongoing cases at the International Criminal Court ICC.

The rallies will begin at Kapsabet, Kericho and Nandi Hills from next weekend.

They will seek to ensure that rallies that have already been held in which the opposition has been accused of fixing Deputy President William Ruto are put to bed and the real truth told.

According to Minority leader in the National Assembly Jakoyo Midiwo, the rallies will tell the real truth behind the ICC fixing saga.

" We have been accused so far and we now feel it is our turn to say the truth to the people," he told News24 on phone.

" They have accused Raila, Karua and other leaders so we will go there and explain to them exactly what happened so they decide the truth for themselves," he added.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has accused the opposition leaders of fixing false witnesses to testify against Ruto.

The rallies will take place as soon as CORD leader Odinga returns to the country following a trip to the Korea's.

Odinga has thus far accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of being behind the fixing, as he was a part of the government side when they allegedly took place.
