CORD supporters receive threats

27 February 2013, 12:40Wangui Joseph

Central province security committee has launched investigations following reports that CORD supporters and aspirants in the region are being threatened.

During a meeting conducted at the Provincial headquarters in Nyeri on Tuesday, Provincial administrator Japhter Rugut said such threats will not be given a chance to exist.

The team was acting over an incident where leaflets were circulating in Kiambu County intimidating CORD supporters to vote in certain way.

Rugut said every person has a right to support their preferred political candidates, warning those behind the malpractice that they will be brought to book once investigations are completed.

The administrator said that his team will visit parts of Ruiru and Thika to unearth more information since these are the most affected areas.

Rugut however called for tolerance and peaceful existence among voters.
