CORD referendum team explains plans to CJ Mutunga

Nairobi - The CORD referendum team has met Chief Justice Willy Mutunga to explain the legal basis behind the planned referendum.
The team, led by lawyer Paul Mwangi, the team met the CJ Wednesday and spoke about various aspects of the upcoming referendum.
It is believed that they met the CJ to explain their reasons for the referendum and its place in law and under the constitution.
" They had a friendly chat with the CJ over many matters including the legal basis of the referendum, a source close to the meeting said.
CORD has insisted that it will collect 1 million signatures to help push through the referendum.
The current levels of insecurity, the state of lawlessness, devolution, the conduct of the electoral body IEBC are reasons for the planned referendum.
