CORD opposes Uhuru sacking of Police boss Kaindi

Nairobi - The CORD coalition has said it opposes the sacking of Deputy Inspector General of Police Grace Kaindi saying it is unconstitutional.
Kaindi was relieved of her duties Tuesday by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said that the reason for the sacking was to ensure that reforms in the police service are done in a thorough manner.
She has been replaced by Robert Kitili.
CORD though, says that they are against it as they fear it harms gender balance.
" The move affects gender balance in the Police Service leadership which is unconstitutional. Kaindi should be replaced by woman at-least," Orange Democratic Movement ODM Chairman John Mbadi said.
He termed the move a bad precedent set by the President in denying women their rights.
Kaindi is said to have been at loggerheads with leadership at the Police, with some claiming that she was regressive and backward.
