CORD names Jubilee MPs in Kajiado Central bribery allegations

Nairobi - The CORD coalition has named 2 Jubilee Alliance Party JAP MPs it says have been bribing voters in the Kajiado Central by election.
Orange Democratic Movement ODM director of elections Suna East MP Junet Mohammed claimed that the coalition had evidence that the Jubilee MPs named were involved in serious voter bribery.
The two MPs he named were Jamleck Kamau and Charles Keter.
Junet claimed that the party had evidence and would report the incident to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC.
" We have evidence that they have been bribing voters," he said.
Kamau though in a rejoinder, termed the accusations as baseless and urged CORD to present evidence of the alleged misdeeds.
" They are baseless accusations that will not be proven. They have no evidence and if they have, they should take it to the authorities," he said.
His colleague Keter was of a similar opinion.
" There is nothing in the accusations. We are here to ensure the elections run smoothly. That is our job," he added.
The election is a major competition between JAP's Patrick Tutui and CORD's Elijah Memusi Kanchori.
