Nairobi - Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi wants Nairobi University student leader Babu Owino arrested for campaigning early for his seat in the run up to the 2017 General Elections.
Owino has already declared his intentions to run for the Westlands seat in the 2017 elections and Wanyonyi has already raised the red flag over the matter.
According to Wanyonyi, Owino is causing problems within Westlands as he has polarised the community and is causing huge rifts.
He has thus asked Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett to arrest Owino for illegal political activity.
He is according to Wanyonyi, engaging in illegal political activity.
" I bring your attention to the illegal conduct of one Babu Owino in my constituency".
" His activities are polarizing the constituency and turning my people against me, which is making my life difficult," he added.
Owino is a much revered figure in the University and his move to run for the Westlands seat is said to be a master-stroke.
Wanyonyi accuses Owino of meeting women at night and giving youth money in his constituency.
He noted that Owino distributed 2,400 mosquito nets, which he says he will destroy if Owino does not take them back.
It is not yet certain which party Owino will use to vie for the 2017 elections.
