CJ’s courts visit in various Counties to kick off March 25

Nairobi - The Chief Justice will spend this week visiting courts in various counties which is part of the expansion and decentralization of courts to facilitate faster access to justice.

According to the press release by the Judiciary,Mutunga will start his tour at Gatundu Law Courts where he will officially open the newly constructed courts on March 25, the Naivasha Law Courts and commission a High Court registry on March 26, preside over the ground breaking of construction of the Bomet Magistartes and High Courts on same March 26.

The CJ’s tour schedule also states that he will officially open the newly constructed Migori Law Courts and commission a High Court registry then carry out a spot check on the infrastructural needs of Homabay Magistrates and High Court on March 27, and finally complete his visit to Kisumu Law Courts where he will carry out a spot check on the ongoing construction of the new Court Complex to house Court of Appeal and High Court. 

Mutunga’s courts tour to counties come at a time when he recently assured that as the legal institution’s head, he will ensure that every county has a High Court as part of infrastructure improvement in line with the Judiciary’s Transformation Framework (JTF) that seeks to facilitate access to and expeditious delivery of justice and adequate physical infrastructure.
