Officials from Communication Commission of Kenya (CCK) together with CID detectives from Nakuru town on Saturday seized transmitters belonging to one of the big FM station in Kenya.
According to the watchman of the transmitters at Milimani estate Harrison Maina, the officers arrived at transmission center at 8:00 AM and asked him to give them the keys before they began their search.
Harrison added that the CCK officials also confiscated his phone and did not identify themselves.
One of the CCK officers who sought anonymity told the media that the station transmissions were interfering with aircraft transmissions at the main controlling tower in Nairobi.
He also added that the station was operating illegally and that the management of the station in Nairobi had been issued with a warning from CCK that the station transmitters risked being seized if they failed to control their transmissions.
The CCK officer said that the matter was now before the court.
