Bye bye brother Barack Obama... We love you!!

26 July 2015, 18:05

Nairobi - On an emotional day, Kenyans said goodbye to Barack Obama, a US President whose visit could be described as the perfect homecoming to a country in dire need of inspiration.

Obama left Kenya just before 5 o'clock local time for Addis Ababa Ethiopia, having had a tour that many observers termed as a perfect 10 out of 10.

His speech to Kenyans at the Safaricom Arena in Kasarani Sunday was nothing short of captivating and the emotion and verve with which he spoke, was with the sense of a man who had something to prove.

In the end, it was not just a normal visit for Obama.

He spoke of his Kenyan roots at length, of Kenya's future with hope and of current vices, with the contempt they deserved.

Simply put, Obama spoke like a man in love with Kenya.

After three days of what can only be described as a pure pleasure for Kenyans and I'm sure Obama himself, many would have not wanted it to end.

A simple message by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen summed up the meaning of Obama's trip to Kenya perfectly.

" I am so honored to have listened to that historic speech by POTUS. Tough love, infallible truth and message of hope,".

Confident I am that majority of Kenyans will be feeling the same.

" It was probably one of the best things I have heard in my life and I was alive during the Martin Luther King era. Obama today touched the nation and I am sure Africa as a whole," Justus Malakai, a political sciences lecturer told News24.

From News24.... Bye bye brother Obama, we love you and hope to see you soon.
