Business woman robbed KES O.6 Million at gunpoint

A business woman was robbed KES 623 000, and other documents at gun-point by a gang at Muringato in Nyeri town by armed highway robbers shortly after withdrawing the money from a bank in Mweiga town over the weekend.
Area OCPD, Kirunya Limbitu, who confirmed the incident said the woman was attacked along Mweiga-Nyeri highway after the robbers followed her on two motorbikes.
The gang sped off after towards Nyeri town after successfully robbing the woman of the cash, ID, and ATM cards.
Police responded swiftly on receiving the report but none of the gangsters was arrested as they had already vanished but investigations are still going on.
The OCPD urged the business fraternity in the area to seek police escort whenever withdrawing or banking large amounts of money.
