Busia - The entire Busia political leadership has been called upon to speak in one voice, sort their issues and rally behind the suspended Public Accounts Committee chairman, Ababu Namwamba, in a bid to make the ailing ODM party strong ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Busia ODM leaders said that there is dire need to bring together leaders who swore to work together in Western Kenya towards building of the region's political agenda.
Led by the Busia ODM youth league chairman, Erick Obai, the leaders strongly condemned Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale saying he is an opportunist allegedly dividing the Western leaders and the community at large ahead of the general elections, adding that he is confused and has no political stand.
"Khalwale is now scheming ways on how he can retain his Senatorial seat in the next elections by fighting Ababu and trying to make Ford Kenya strong by rallying behind Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula," Obai said.
Speaking to journalists in Busia town on Thursday, they said that the internal wars being experienced in the opposition party ODM are part of a schemeaimed at dividing the people of western region ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
"Bonny Khalwale, we have known you as a politician who has no stand and it's specifically manifested in your behavior of wavering from one party to another. We hear that you are now running around fighting Ababu Namwamba claiming that he is corrupt and cannot be trusted with the leadership of PAC," a youth leader, William Nabii stated.
Nabii observed that the party leader, Raila Odinga, should choose his allies wisely as some of them might end up messing him politically.

"Raila, should know whom to trust. Sometimes you can keep on walking with people who will end up confusing you and you will end up losing your trusted army," he added.
He stated, "Some party members sat somewhere and plotted a coup against Ababu. We have never seen former PAC chairmen being taken to court and yet they looted money. There are people who are plotting a war against Namwamba because they have realized he has gone up within a very short period."
He further added that people are not happy that Ababu is the chairman of PAC and are just out to finish him politically.
"We want to state categorically that as youths of this county, we agreed to stand with Ababu until the end since he has served us well in Busia County, and we are sure he tackles issues very well. He has been loyal to the party for a long time," Nabii said.
They faulted the ODM chairman, John Mbadi for allegedly fighting his members, with Namwamba being the latest victim.
"Mbadi just came from nowhere as someone picked him as the party leader, but he cannot tell us anything. Some people campaigned but he did nothing. He is just busy fighting his members; he should sober up if he is looking for power," they charged.
They feared that ODM is now collapsing and called upon the party leader Raila Odinga to wake up and drive the party properly failure to which the internal wars will ruin the party completely as people are divided.
