Boy stabbed by mother admitted in hospital

20 April 2012, 13:26Joseph Mukubwa

A ten- year- old boy is admitted at Nyeri Provincial General Hospital in critical condition after he was stabbed by his mother for drinking all the tea.

A Standard six pupil Kennedy Gathii of DEB Muslim Primary School in Nyeri town sustained a serious stab wound on his limbs following the attack which occurred on Wednesday night.

Speaking from his hospital bed, Gathii said that he were left behind with other children by their mother who is a casual labourer and drunk all the tea with other children at Witemere slums in Nyeri town.

“My mother had cooked tea but had not indicated whether she wanted some to be reserved for her forcing me to serve all the tea to our other siblings. She became furious when she returned from work and stabbed me,” he said in his hospital bed.

Gathii said that the irritated mother picked a knife and stabbed him several on the limbs but good neighbors rushed him to the hospital where he is admitted.

The mother is however at large and police are pursuing her.
