Kericho - Police are searching for a boy who allegedly killed his step father with a knife following a domestic quarrel in Kericho County.
Confirming the incident, Kericho County Police Commander, Rose Muchuma said the deceased identified as George Ochieng Obwonya aged 49 years visited his second wife Bornes Chepng’etich at her house at around midnight and a domestic quarrel arose between the two.
Muchuma said that the deceased’s step son aged 17 years and his sister-in-law woke up on hearing a commotion in the house and wanted to know what was happening.

She added that the deceased left the house armed with a panga and started chasing his sister-in-law.
That is when his step-son picked a sharp knife and threw at him. He fell down after it pierced through his chest.
The step son fled immediately from the home, leaving his step father lying on the ground bleeding profusely.
Muchuma said that the deceased was rushed to Muhoroni District Hospital by neighbours, but was later pronounced dead while undergoing treatment.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kericho District Hospital Mortuary awaiting post mortem examination.
Muchuma said police are looking for the minor who will be charged with murder.
“We have launched a manhunt for the deceased’s step son aged 17 years who will be charged with murder upon his arrest, but the court will decide on what course of action to take since he is a minor," said Muchuma.
