Boinett demotes Mboroki following Pastor Ng'ang'a saga
11 August 2015, 14:06
Nairobi - Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett has replaced police spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki and promoted Charles Owino to take up her position.
Mboroki has been transferred to the logistics department.
Owino takes over the post from the operations department at the police headquarters after being shifted by former Inspector General David Kimaiyo in 2013.
It has however emerged that the move has taken place after Boinett felt grossly misinterpreted and misrepresented in the saga involving the controversial road accident linked to Neno Evangelism Centre's Pastor James Ng'ang'a.
Boinett was accused of defending Ng'ang'a whose alleged accident caused the death of a woman, Mercy Njeri two weeks ago.
Boinett had stated that any officers who acted wrongly in the saga will be interdicted and it seems Mboroki has been found out first.
Ng'ang'a has denied being at the place where the accident took place but witnesses have placed him there and have recorded statements to that effect.
