Boinett, NCIC asked to investigate Governor Kabogo

Nairobi - The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Keriako Tobiko has asked Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett to investigate utterances made by Kiambu Governor William Kabogo in a video clip that has gone viral on social media.
Tobiko, in a statement released Monday noon, also directed the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to interrogate and investigate the controversial Governor.
“Kabogo is captured uttering words that may amount to hate speech, ethnic contempt and/or incitement to violence,” said the DPP.

The video clip which has sparked outrage among Kenyans shows the Governor warning Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama of dire consequences for insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He is also captured spreading political and tribal hatred against CORD leader, Raila Odinga.
The DPP asked the police boss and the NCIC to furnish his office with their findings after investigations.
Kabogo made the remarks at Thika stadium during a rally to celebrate 30 years of De Matthew's music.
