Boda boda operators harass MP
17 January 2013, 11:20
Former Gatundu North Mp Clement Waibara was Wednesday evening harassed by motorbike operators at Gatukuyu Shoppping centre in Mang’u for withholding their pay.
The 100+ young men were demanding for a better pay after a long day's work traveling across the constituency campaigning for him.
They were among a long - log caravan that traversed through Gatundu villages convincing electorates to retain the Mp and give him a second chance.
They were irked by Waibara’s sentiments that he will not pay them claiming it was already night and he feared for his security.
Therefore, the boda boda operators started harassing the aspirant and threatening him.
Waibara was whisked away by Mang’u police officers for safety.
He had promised to give them KES 200 each.
