Google Kenya have launched the ‘Doodle 4 Google’ 2013 competition which is aimed at celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence this December.
The competition, which is open to all Kenyan school students aged between 6 years to 18 years, is meant to encourage the participants to create their own doodles, allowing the students a chance to win a techie prize for him or herself and for their school. Doodles are the fun and creative changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists, pioneers, and scientists.
‘In judging the doodles, we’ll look for designs that capture the spirit of the theme, and that show artistic merit and creativity,’ says Farzana Khubchandani, Google Kenya Head of Marketing. ‘We have assembled a panel of expert judges from tech, entertainment, and media, including Juliani, Churchill, and Caroline Mutoko.’
