Big blow for Raila as key ally Kajwang leaves huge void

Nairobi - At a time when finding persons loyal to him and his ideals is difficult, the death of Otieno Kajwang will leave a huge void for ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Kajwang's unprecedented death has robbed the party of a solid personality, young still at 55 and versatile.
He was also known for his humour and warmth.
But especially when ODM is at a crossroads and there are trust issues concerning Raila;s suitability to lead the party, Kajwang's loss will be felt even more.
He was especially loyal to Raila.
" It is a big blow to ODM. He was one of the people to rely on. He was open to taking on challenges. He was fully behind the party. It is a big big blow," Raila said at the Mater Hospital after his death.
" I will miss him. If there was a person I could depend on it was him. You did not have to ask if he was ready or available, you knew he was," a distraught Raila added.
Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero also called his loss a big blow.
" We have lost a warrior, not just within CORD and ODM, but as a country. He was eager to contribute as Homa Bay Senator at all levels, he said.
Political analyst Michael Njenga says ODM will struggle to replace Kajwang.
" Kajwang was a one of a kind politician. He was easy to like, never had any enemies and was also development oriented. He is a dying breed and it is sad that the country has lost him," he said.
