Bhang worth KES 500 000 nabbed in Molo

Molo - Police in Molo, Nakuru County Sunday seized bhang with a street value of approximately KES 500 000 at Munju area in Molo.
The police, who were acting on a tip from members of the public, said the bhang was found in a residential house.
Confirming the incident, AP Commander Joseph Mwangi said they raided the homestead of the suspect and found the drugs stashed in the house.
Addressing journalists, Mwangi said they however did not manage to arrest the suspect after he escaped during the early Sunday morning raid.

He said: “Our police officers who were acting on a tip from members of the public recovered the drugs from his house.”
“The suspected dealer escaped during the raid but we have launched a manhunt and will arrest him soon,” he said.
The AP commandant said many cases have been reported of people who lure young people to drop out of school to peddle drugs.
“We will be on the lookout and arrest those involved in the drug business. We urge the residents to work with the police and report any suspicious individuals,” he said.
He also urged the residents to embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative to boost security in the County, and praised the community policing team for helping reduce crime in the region.
