The best last year's KCPE student in Nyeri county Quincy Wanjau wants to be a neuro- surgeon.
The former pupil at St Teresa Kanyange Academy in Othaya is an orphan and has been brought up by his grandparents who have been struggling to pay for his school fees.
He scored 425 marks emerging the best in the county and 11 best candidate nationally.
There was jubilation in the school as parents, pupils and teachers celebrated the victory.
The 14 year old boy wants to join Starehe Boys School and become a neuro- surgeon so that he can be able to treat most of the illnesses people experience in the society.
"I knew I would pass but not this much. I was determined and focused since the beginning. My teachers and guardians helped me so much," he said.
The grandfather Peter Wanjau said the grandson was very hardworking boy.
The school director John Githinji said the boy has been the best since he joined kindergarten in the school.
