Eldoret - The County government of Uasin Gishu has announced that it will close down all bars that will be found secretly operating strip joints.
Deputy Governor, Daniel Chemno, said that a few clubs in Eldoret town have been secretly running strip clubs, something he said is against the law.
Addressing the press in his office, Chemno said that County officers have already identified some of the clubs and that they have already directed them to stop the business.
“Operating a strip club is a crime under the Kenyan laws. Even our own County laws do not permit that and we have ordered such clubs to immediately stop that business. Those who will ignore the directive will be forced to shut down because we will revoke their operating licenses,” said Chemno.

He also warned those visiting such joints that they risk arrests.
“Both the operators and those visiting the strip joints together with the strippers will face the same action,” he said.
Chemno advised bars to strictly stick to their business of selling alcohol and stop engaging in any other form of promoting immoral activities in the town.
He added that County officers will be secretly on the lookout for such clubs.
