Bar owners reap with Uhuru’s inauguration

Bar and hotel operators in Nyeri town on Tuesday maximized their profits during inauguration ceremony of Uhuru Kenyatta.
Multitudes of residents flocked into the social halls to follow up the ceremony as the new President took oath.
However, business owners came up with ideas of ‘No idle sitting’ notices which were immediately posted on the hall walls.
They also hired big body guys to flash out idlers in the hall who were not purchasing anything like beverage.
The same case was witnessed in small joints that did not allow idlers to stay in their business premises sluggishly watching television.
In Karatina town, most people followed the ceremonious event at their homes as many businesses remained closed.
Public Service Vehicles, likewise were not operating until the event was over.
Locals exuded their optimistic expectations that Jubilee government will perform and meet their pledges to the people.
In Karatina market, traders said they would like to see some of the minor problems like lack of food addressed and eradication of poverty across the country.
Job creation for the youth was another issue which they said would minimize insecurity and ensure sooth running of businesses.
“Let them first deal with the embarrassing problems like lack of food. Fifty years after independence and we are still borrowing and depending on relief food is a shame,” they said.
