Blending youth and experience,Lunch Bar Quins successfully defended
their Pepsi Kabeberi Sevens title with a 22-14 cup final win over KCB at
the RFUEA Grounds on Sunday 9 September 2012.
KCB opened the scoring when Peter Kilonzo touched down under the
posts with Edwin Salamba converting for a 7-0 lead.Quins would respond
when Arthur Ochieng touched down at the corner, his unconverted try
reducing the deficit to two points, KCB holding the slender 7-5 lead
before Max Theuri breached the KCB defence, grounding ball with an
unconverted try that saw Quins take a 10-7 lead into the interval.
Former Kenya Sevens international Wilson Kopondo extended the lead
upon resumption, breaking through a KCB tackle, scoring under the posts
with Lyle Asiligwa converting as Quins raced ten points clear, the score
board reading 17-7 in their favour.
