Atwoli joins 2017 General Elections race

Nairobi - Central Organization of Trade Unions COTU Secretary general Francis Atwoli has said that he will run for elective office in the 2017 General Election in-order to serve Kenyans.
The COTU boss speaking at Nairobi's Uhuru Park Wednesday said that he would do so in-order to try protect the interests of Kenyans who have been led down a false path by the current regime.
He did not state where and on which platform he would do so but was certain he would throw his hat in the ring.
" The time for talking is over. I am ready to serve Kenyans and will seek support in the 2017 elections," he said to cheers from workers.
He was addressing teachers and workers who had attended a rally to show support to the ongoing teachers strike.
He called on the government to pay teachers their dues as they had beaten them fair and square thrice in court.
" It is time to accept defeat. They were beaten in round one, two and three and should accept so and pay teachers," he added.
Teachers are currently on strike protesting the failure by the Teachers Service Commision TSC to forfeit payment of a 50/60% pay-rise effected by the Labour court and rubber-stamped by the Appeals Court as well as the Supreme Court.
