Attempted coup in ODM stopped by Nyong'o

Nairobi - Magerer Lang'at is remains the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Executive Director, the party has said, after efforts to have him removed from the position.
The under-fire Magerer, who has been touted as a Jubilee coalition mole by some members of the party, has been defended by Secretary general Prof. Anyang Nyong'o, who says that he will retain his position.
This follows a move by some members of the party, led by party activist Wafula Buke to try absolve him of his position Wednesday.
" Mr. Magerer Lang'at is the Executive Director of the ODM who is currently scheduled to appear before the party's disciplinary committee as constituted by the NEC. Any public announcement by any unauthorized person to the contrary will attract appropriate disciplinary action," Nyong'o said in a statement.
Lang'at's conduct led to his beating last week by a group of MCA's who accused him of betraying the party.
They claim that Lang'at has been spying on the party in Jubilee's regard and also claims that he is looking to cause a revolution against party leader Raila Odinga.
Lang'at has since denied those claims, saying they are false and that he has no intention of overthrowing Raila.
