Assistant chief shot by gangsters

An Assistant chief from Subukia District in the outskirts of Nakuru town is nursing serious gunshot injuries at War Memorial Hospital in Nakuru after he was attacked Monday night by a group of thugs.
The assistant chief who was identified as Hudson Mbushiru was attacked at around 9:00 pm by a gang of four men who were in plain police uniform.
Mbuhiru is believed to have suffered gunshot wounds on the stomach and hands as he tried to free himself from the gangsters.
Subukia OCPD Jacinta Wesonga told the press that police in the area have launched an extensive investigation into the matter saying the culprits will be brought to justice.
“We have started an investigations into the matter and soon we are going to be bring those behind the attacks to justice,” said the OCPD.
The OCPD further said she will not allow few individuals masquerading as police office to cause disharmony among the residents of Subukia.
Jacinta urged the public to come out and assist the police with any reliable information that might help in arresting the thugs.
Subukia residents who spoke with the media said this was not the first time such an incident occurred, blaming the security department in Subukia District of laxity on their line of duty.
The assistant chief is recuperating well at the hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
