Bungoma - A nominated Member of Bungoma County Assembly (MCA) is counting losses after unknown people torched her car in Kanduyi village.
Dorice Nanyukia, a New Ford Kenya nominated MCA's car was reduced to ashes in a night attack while she was a sleep.
“I heard commotion from outside with a number of motorcycles roaming around my compound but before I could open the window to peep I heard a loud bang and on opening the door I realized my car was on fire.
"I screamed to alert neighbours who rushed to the scene but they could not help because the fire was overwhelming,” Nanyukia said.
She called on security agencies to investigate the matter and have the perpetrators arrested.
“I want the security agencies to arrest the suspects behind this act because they have totally paralyzed my operations, how will I discharge my duties yet my only mode of transport has been destroyed?” she posed.
She said her neighbours helped her put off the fire before it could reach her house.

“I condemn the act in the strongest terms possible, let the security personnel do the necessary to arrest the perpetrators, it’s sad and as the assembly we will stand with the family,” said Makali.
