Nyeri - Property worth millions of shillings was razed when suspected arsonists burnt down the offices of Rumukia Coffee Cooperative Society in Mukurwe-ini town.
The arsonists are alleged to have dosed the office on Monday night to conceal evidence of the audit which was being carried out in the office.
The interim treasurer, Thandi Njogu said three offices which had all documentation of the eight coffee society were reduced to ashes.
The society has eight factories which include Thunguri, Gaikundo, Maganjo, Ndia-ini, Kiamururu, Kagunyu, Tambaya and Gatura.
Njogu said the interim committee had only one month before they released their results only to hear that the offices were on fire.
He suspected that the ousted committee might have organized the arson.
He called upon police to investigate the matter and bring to book those involved.
