Nairobi - Teachers have demanded that Garissa Township MP Aden Duale be arrested over his links to terrorism in the country.
The Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT called on Duale's arrest, just a few days after a similar call by activists over his involvement in terrorism in the country.
Duale has been on record as saying he will name and shame those in the country that are harbouring terrorism and terrorists.
His statement came in the aftermath of the Garissa University attack that saw 148 people killed and left Kenyans asking why Duale had not come up with the list earlier.
KNUT secretary general Wilson Sossion in a statement Friday added to the chorus of persons calling for Duale's arrest.
" There is only one person who should be in police cells and that is Aden Duale," he said.
" The government should arrest him and have him answer to charges of terrorism. He has the links to terrorists and it is him that should be in jail," he added.
" Those terrorists stayed in a Garissa hotel before executing the attack and some are relatives of his. He should explain what happened, Sossion added.
The KNUT boss also called on teachers in the area to not return to the region as it was unsafe and called on the government to close down the university completely and turn it into an army station to ensure that there is better security for the area.
