Armed thugs rob Afya Sacco KES 4 million

Nyeri - Afya Sacco, Nyeri branch was Tuesday robbed KES 4.6 million by thugs who were armed with a pistol.
While confirming the incident, Nyeri Central Deputy County Commissioner John Marete said three robbers entered the Sacco offices which are situated inside the Central Referral Hospital (Nyeri Level 5) through the rear door.
“Our initial investigations indicate that the robbers cut the live wire fence at the back of the offices to gain entrantry,” said Marete, adding that the suspects were recorded by CCTV cameras.

He reported that the workers were harassed and ordered to lie down during the 10.00am incident.
Marete said two ladies who work for the Sacco have been arrested for questioning as police suspect the robbery 'could be an inside job’.
Nobody was injured during the robbery.
The administrator added that police have launched investigations into the matter.
