Arabic writing appears in cooking pot

26 August 2013, 10:54 John Kioko

Diani - Diani residents in Kwale County on Friday were surprised by Arabic words which appeared in a Sufuria where Ugali was being prepared by one of the Islamic followers.

The incident took place shortly after Friday Islamic prayers in the afternoon attracting believers from all corners of Ukunda and who flocked to witness.

Rukia Mohamed was almost through cooking her Ugali when she realized there were Arabic words ‘LAILLAH –HAILLAH- LLAH’.

In her surprise Mohamed called religious leaders to witness before giving out their remarks on the matter.

‘I was serving Ugali when I realized that the Sufuria which I had used to cook had the Arabic words inside, which have a meaning in our religion,” she said.

Confirming the incident, the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya south coast branch Sheikh Amir Banda said the incident indicates the glory of God.

“It is a conformation from God to His followers that Islamic religion is the one before Him,’ he said.

Same incident recently took place in Shimoni after same Arabic words emerged on an egg.

Mohamed Mbwana Imam at Al-Farouk mosque in Shimoni said the words were seen on one of the eggs bought by a woman from a shop moments after Friday prayers also.

“Some of the things we are seeing they are to remind us to stick to our God and worship Him all the time,” he said.
