02 May 2014, 13:30
Nairobi - The Court of Appeal has upheld the election of Luanda MP Chris Omulele.
The decision was reached at Friday followign an appeal by Arthur Kibira Apungu and Julius Sikalo who lost out to Omulele in the election.
They had claimed that the elections were not free and fair thus the plea for nullification of the March 2013 election.
According to the two, there was voter bribery and several cases of violence and intimidation against their supporters by Omulele's team during election day.
In the ruling though, it was determined that there was lack of evidence to ascertain whether the claims were valid and big enough to affect the outcome of the election.
