Anti Saba Saba demo held in Nyeri

Nyeri - Hundreds of Nyeri county residents on Sunday held demonstrations against Monday’s Saba Saba rallies planned by CORD.
Area shadow Kamau Gatwechi, who led the demonstrations, said the rallies are a recipe for chaos and mechanisms of averting it should be put in place.
Gatwechi said the opposition leader Raila Odinga is planning to cause disarrays in the country so that foreigners can be called in for mediation.
The peaceful demonstrations were held along the streets of Nyeri town singing anti - Raila songs with banners and placards calling for peace.
“We call upon all respected leaders across the political divide to rise above selfish and cheap political expediency and build Kenya,” Gatwechi said.
“CORD ought to desist from using inflammatory language that could easily trigger inter-ethnic clashes. Our country has been starved off foreign currency by the inflammatory and war like rhetoric from leaders who are hell bent on causing an East African spring,” said Gatwechi.
