Anger as ODM creates 9 new execituve positions

Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement passed a resolution to create 9 new positions in its top brass but the move was met with anger from a section of delegates.
Delegates from the Coast walked out in protest after the move by majority of the delegates to accept the proposal to create new positions in the party.
The move is aimed at appeasing potential losers in the poll.
Once the decision had been made, the delegates walked out in protest and it took Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho to convince them to come back into the Kasarani gymnasium.
The delegates from the coast have been against the move by the party and secretary general Prof Anyang Nyong'o to creat the new positions, terming the move as suspicious.
CORD principal Kalonzo Musyoka in his speech, pleaded with the delegates to join hands with their counterparts and ensure a strong party.
" We do not want to see disharmony at this level. We are all here as brothers and sisters for a reason and that reason is to ensure this party reigns, he said.
" A strong ODM is a strong CORD and we must uphold that, even if we have differences, he added.
The position of deputy party leader, secretary general among others have been affected in the changes, which Coastal delegates felt would make the party weaker.
