Kioni: We have land solution

25 February 2013, 15:12Alloys Musyoka

Amani coalition running mate Jeremiah Kioni said their coalition is the one to be trusted to give permanent solution to issues of land facing the larger coast region.

Addressing journalists at Kilifi Christ Formation Church in Kilifi district where he had attended church service, Kioni said Amani coalition has no vested interest in land at the coast province like other presidential candidates in other alliances and so they can solve it well.

"As leaders, we cannot wish away the issue of land and especially at Coast where it is a real problem and that why we are saying Amani coalition leaders are the best if Kenyans vote for our presidential candidate," he said.

Kioni who was accompanied by Dr Boni Khalalwe said their opponents have vested interest in land at coast and so they cannot be trusted to solve land problem if elected, cautioning Kenyans against electing such leaders.

"We have seen our critics answering to cases of land here at coast and others accused of owning chunks of lands illegally. So they cannot come here and tell Kenyans that they can solve the issue of land," he said.

He also cautioned Kenyans against electing presidential candidate who has no interest of serving Kenyans but focused on clinching to power to protect his or her interests.

Kioni noted that some of the top presidential candidates have been campaigning since 2008, adding that such leaders will also continue campaigning if elected instead of moving the country to another step in development.

"There are some people who are just used to campaigning and if you dare elect them. No developments will be realized for the next five years that's why we are urging Kenyans to stay focused and elect a leader who will help them," he posed.

Kioni also warned politicians against inciting Kenyans on claims that there are rigging plans, saying it will be expensive for this republic if a presidential candidate wins the election on an emotional platform.

He said there is need for Kenyans to be allowed to make a decision on their own without being incited by politicians.

He urged Kenyans to elect a leader who will unite Kenyans and not incite them.
