Am at peace outside politics, former Cabinet Minister says

27 January 2015, 09:17 Jackson Okata

Nakuru - Former Cabinet Minister, Henry Kosgey has said that he is more at peace outside the political world as he focuses on personal business.

Kosgey, who is the former Tinderet Member of Parliament, said that life is more enjoyable outside politics and that he is enjoying what he missed for the many years he was in politics.

Speaking at a function at Nakuru town Monday afternoon, Kosgey said that he no longer shoulders public pressure or political pressure since he has no political obligations.

He added that his focus now is on his personal businesses and family life.

“When you are in active politics, you spent a lot of time away from your family and the pressure and expectations are just too much but life outside politics is sweet and enjoyable because I don’t have to wake up at 3am and sleep past midnight in the name of attending meetings. Now I have a lot of time to attend to my family issues and personal business and I love it,” said Kosgey.

Kosgey said that he is proud of the work he did not only for the people of Tinderet but also for all Kenyans for the time he was in politics.

“I can happily say that I am a proud Kenyan because of the service I offered the people of Kenya as a Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and a leader in general,” he said.

Asked about whether he will be back on the political scene in 2017, Kosgey said: “The future lies in God's hands and if He wants you to do something you cannot refuse.”
