Aladwa to appear in court Tuesday

Nairobi - Orange Democratic Movement ODM's George Aladwa will be arraigned in court Tuesday morning to answer to charges of hate speech and incitement.
Aladwa was arrested last week by police officers who had him remanded for telling Kibera residents that there would be death and tears if opposition leader Raila Odinga did not win the 2017 General elections.
He recorded a statement at the Kamukunji Police Station Friday and was later released on a KES 200,000 cash bail.
He will thus appear in court Tuesday.
Aladwa has thus far been defended by Odinga who believes he did nothing wrong.
The case mirrors a similar one to that of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who has also been done for hate speech previously.
Aladwa himself is confident that Police will have no case against him.
" I am confident that the rule of law will find me to have not done any wrong," he said over the weekend.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commision, the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Criminal Investigations Department CID have been enjoined in the case.
