Akaranga to tour Germany

Vihiga - Vihiga governor Moses Akaranga will travel to Germany tomorrow (Thursday) to woo investors.
The two week tour will enable him to meet investors from the Germany Chamber of Commerce who had visited the county two months ago.
He is also expected to meet the people from Vihiga who live in the diaspora for a possible agreement on how they will invest back into their home county.
While addressing journalists in his office at the county yesterday before the departure, Akaranga noted that the county suffers an acute shortage of business ventures and thus it was his mandate to go out more often than not in looking for potential investors.
“I will be forced to go out on many occasions to look for investors from the developed countries that are willing to come back to the country and invest particularly in Vihiga. We have a greater shortage in terms of business ventures that will not be able to be satiated by the central government alone,” said Akaranga.
Akaranga said that he will be putting the interests of his people first as he goes abroad so that they can equally benefit from the fruits of devolution.
“My people will see that at the end of the day, investors will be flocking to the region to develop it and thus creating opportunities for them,” he said.
This is the governor’s second trip abroad, with the first one having happened only a few weeks ago, where he visited America and opened a secretariat in Detroit to link the county to the investors.
