Airtel unveils Valentines Day promotion

04 February 2014, 11:13 Nechesa Chemoi

Nairobi - Airtel Kenya has unveiled a Valentine promotion that will enable its customers watch Manchester United play Aston Villa in an English Premier League match, live at Old Trafford.

The winners of the promotion will be announced on 15th February, 2014, a day after Valentine’s Day, the second most celebrated holiday around the world.

Those who want to participate in the promotion are required to buy a Manchester United SIM card, a special SIM kit available at all Airtel shops for KES 1,000, and insert the SIM card into their phones. They will then dial 141 to activate and enjoy the benefits.

All existing Airtel customers only need to dial *311# to join the unique Valentine experience.

There are 5 hospitality tickets to be won in the promotion. The tickets include Canapés, drinks and buffet before the match, refreshments during half time, drinks and DJ after the final whistle, opportunity to tour the Old Trafford stadium and Man Utd Museum tour either a day before the game or a day after the game.

Airtel Kenya managing director Shivan Bhargava said the promotion underlines the company’s commitment to recognise and reward its customers for their loyalty.

“Our customers should prepare themselves to take advantage of this unique promotion that is set to give our loyal and passionate customers a Valentine’s experience with a difference to watch Manchester United play Aston Villa live at Old Trafford, Manchester, England on Saturday 29th March 2014,” he said.

The Airtel partnership with Manchester United has also complimented the sports programme in the country through the annual Airtel Rising Stars program and the Manchester United Soccer Clinic where selected students from the Airtel Rising Stars Championships attend a special soccer clinic with coaches from Manchester United Football Club.

Through the partnership, football enthusiasts got a memorable chance embrace and pose for photos next to the English Premier League trophy which was in the country for a one-day tour last month.
