Nairobi – Airtel customers have been asked to brace themselves for service interruption as the company embarks on upgrading its network in Nairobi.
However, the interruption will not last for long after after Airtel announced that the ongoing works will end soon.
The company had earlier announced a KES 2.5 billion investment to upgrade its network in Kenya in order to meet the demands for increased data and internet services.
After the upgrade, Airtel customers in this region will enjoy stronger signals and faster data speeds on the company’s network.
Airtel customers using the 3.75G network in some areas in Nairobi might experience service interruptions during the upgrade period.
According to the company, service interruptions might affect its customers through call drops to interruption while using the internet, to slow internet browsing or not being able to be reached at times during the downtimes.
The customers have been advised to set the network mode on their phone settings on “Auto connect” to minimize service interruptions.
“Our focus is to deliver superior quality of service to our customers. The implementation of this transformation program will enable us to further enrich our customers’ internet and voice experience across the country. We do apologize for any inconveniences that may be caused to our customers and reassure them that our technical teams will be working throughout to minimize the interruptions during this upgrade period,” the company’s CEO Adil El Youssefi said.
