Agony Of Doctors Strike

Following up the strike that is going on of the medical officers and intern officers in Meru level five General hospitals who left the hospital yesterday patients are looking for another option.
Speaking to the media in Meru town, the matron in the hospital said that due to the publicity of the media, they do not have many patients unlike other days where patients almost go unattended to.
She added that many patients’ have opted to go to private hospital. The hospital is still operating because the nurses’, clinical officers and consultancy are not on strike.
However a case was reported yesterday night of a patient who is suffering from surgical toileting and who was not attended to until after some hours of pain.
She also explained that most cases of sick patients have been referred to Kenyatta national hospital where she said they have more advanced machines.
