Ababu suspended from parliamentary role

Nairobi - ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has had his role as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee PAC in parliament suspended.
Namwamba has been under pressure to explain himself over alleged bribery and corruption within the powerful committee after MPs complained of misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.
He last week survived an impeachment motion against him, just managing a 14-13 result in his favour.
But after leader of Majority Aden Duale had on Wednesday placed a motion to have the actions of the PAC probed, Speaker Justin Muturi Thursday obliged to the motion.
" The Public Accounts Committee has for now suspended the Public Accounts Committee and its operations pending investigation by the Powers and Privileges Committee," a statement from Muturi's office read.
