Ababu says he is in ODM to stay

Nairobi - Orange Democratic Movement ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba says that he is not leaving the party and that he will sue media houses trying to insinuate that he is seeking a way out of the party.
Namwamba was reacting Monday to reports that he had rubber-stamped the formation of a party that will seek to align the interests of the Luhya community under one banner.
But speaking on the sidelines of a party retreat Monday in Maanzoni, Ababu stated that he is at ODM to stay and that he has no need to shift parties.
" I am at ODM to stay. I have said it severally but it seems there are some people hell bent on making it seem otherwise, he said.
" The media should stop sensationalizing this matter. They usually mention sources that cannot be named and this really is a sign of them lying and creating stories that do not exist,"he added.
Ababu says that he is committed to his role and ODM Secretary General and is keen on building the party further.
" There is no question. I do not have several relationships. I am a one team person, a one woman man,"he added.
Ababu is reported to have met a group of 48 legislators over the weekend where plans to form a united Luhya front in the run-up to the 2017 General Elections were discussed.
